Admission for SSLC (10th Standard) Candidates

  • Candidates seeking admission to the Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology should get prescribed application form from the Principal, Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology, for SC & ST candidates free of cost and others by paying Rs.150/- in the form of Cash or Demand Draft in favour of Principal, Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology payable at Chennai.
  • Completed application form should reach the Principal Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology within 15 days from the date of publication of SSLC Examination results.
  • Allocation of seats and programmes will be based on merits and communal quota.

Admission through Lateral Entry for HSC Candidates

  • Candidates seeking admission through Lateral Entry to Regular Diploma Programmes should obtain prescribed application form from the Principal, Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology on production of Demand draft for Rs.150/- in favour of Principal, Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology.
  • Completed application form should reach The Principal Vethathiri Maharishi Institute of Technology within 15 days from the publication of HSC Examination results.
  • Allocation of seats and programmes will be based on merits and communal quota.

In the GENERAL CATEGORY reservation based on Community is made as per the following State Government norms.

Age Limit

Candidates for admission into the first semester of the six-semester Regular, seven-semester Sandwich, eight- semester Part-Time Diploma Courses and to the third semester Regular Diploma courses under Lateral Entry shall satisfy the age limit as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Qualifications

Candidates seeking admission into Full-Time and Part-Time Diploma Courses shall be required to have passed X standard examination of the State Board of Education, Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination already recognised by the Directorate of School Education Board, Tamilnadu with eligibility for admission to First year of Higher Secondary School in Tamil Nadu. For Part-Time Diploma Course candidates, in addition, weightage is given for industrial experience as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Candidates seeking admission to the Second Year (III Semester) of Regular Diploma Courses under Lateral Entry shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination ( Vocational) or 2 year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate Examination after passing X Std. Examination of State Board of Education as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Eligiblity

Candidates seeking admission shall satisfy the eligibility conditions such as subjects, marks, number of attempts etc, as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu.

Duration Of Course

The duration for the Full-Time Regular Diploma Course shall be 6 consecutive semesters and for the Sandwich Diploma Course shall be 7 consecutive semesters and spread over 3 and 3 ½ academic years respectively, and for Part-Time Diploma Course shall be 8 consecutive semesters spread over 4 academic years. Each semester shall have a minimum duration of 16 Weeks . One academic year constitutes two semesters .

Subjects Of Study

The subjects of study shall include theory and practical as detailed in the Curriculum. The curriculum also includes project work for Full-Time Regular and Sandwich Diploma Courses as well as for Part-Time Regular Diploma Courses and Industrial training for Sandwich Diploma Courses.

Anti-Ragging Mechanism

Ragging in any form is strictly forbidden. According to Tamilnadu Ragging Act 1997, ragging within or without Educational Institution is prohibited. Ragging within or outside Educational Institutions shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend upto 2 years and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to Rs.10,000/-
